As the pandemic has forced all of us to adjust to a new normal, I reflect on the positives I’m grateful to have in my life in the present, and share a few observations from my time while sheltering at home over the last couple of months.
It’s been several years since I’ve worked at the Dominick’s grocery store. My five and a half years there through high school and college felt like an eternity. With the store likely to soon close, I am thankful for some of the fond memories I have while working there.
Little did I know in June 2010 that one stop to a specific restaurant while in Athens, GA would fuel a potentially unhealthy liking to the Waffle House restaurant chain.
An evening fire on the driveway while with my fiance and future in-laws allowed me to share my less than favorable Boy Scout memories. This unfortunately caused me to realize that many of the things that annoyed me as a kid concerning the great outdoors still annoy me, now as an adult.
Growing up as a Bulls fan, I have fond memories of watching their games on NBC, and of the iconic NBA on NBC theme music. Here is a cool video with the song’s creator, John Tesh, telling the story on how he came up with it along with a live rendition of it.
